Hit me! Well, not literally *winces*

What is, hands down, your fav knee pads, and explain what makes them so derbytastic.

I have some Protec ones which are good and all, and it’s time to upgrade after a year and a bit of skating in and outdoors with them. Fear not, I won’t wreck my next set of knee pads cos I now have an outdoor set. I’m just wondering if there are amazeball pads out there better than what I’m currently skating with. I hear the TSG’s are good but too bulky for good deep cross-overs, and that the Atom skinny knee pads are to be avoided. What do you roll with?

  1. kimperly answered: I’m thoroughly in love with my triple 8s. Not bulky even over gaskets, and soft landings all around. Bummer is, no replaceable caps!
  2. misskath answered: 187 Pros. Replaceable caps (cheap), shape encourages good stance (not comfy when upright!). Like falling on kittens and unicorn farts.
  3. ohblumblebee answered: I hear pro derbys are amazing!
  4. sharivegas answered: 187s! best investment i’ve ever made. however, i believe they now have 187 pro derby pads which are also splendid!
  5. cellothebandit answered: I use the tsg force 3 which are lower profile but there’s actually a new 187 for derby specific that is suppose to be amazeballs.
  6. polerin answered: I cross over deep with the TSG’s. My main problem with them is actually just instability while I’m ON my knees, but it’s getting better
  7. think-again-and-carry-on answered: Deadbolts. Custom, strong, very protective, will never slip.
  8. you-and-i-misbehaving answered: i love my 187 pro derby pads! Like clouds for my knees. Oh and they allow a nice range of motion too!
  9. scienceandrollerskates answered: 187s! wonderful
